Questa solenne Domenica ci introduce nella Settimana Santa, per vivere il mistero centrale della nostra Salvezza. Un amore senza misura (san Bernardo) si riversa sull'umanità come una manna celeste che siamo chiamati a raccogliere con abbondanza per il nutrimento della nostra vita nuova, risorti con Cristo, se siamo disposti a morire con Lui a tutte le cose delle terra. rinunciando alla propria riuscita;
in un mondo di violenza e di sopruso
si fa agnello espiatore del male.
Lo attendono in trappola nell’orto,
lo fanno prigioniero come un malfattore
senza che voglia fuggire,
lo conducono dove non vuole andare.
E Lui non resiste; follia d’amore:
segue il nemico per dirgli che lo ama;
lo facilita nella tortura
offrendo Lui stesso guancia e dorso.
Prima dell’arresto credevano di sapere
quello che gli avrebbero fatto:
tutto era pronto e dovuto
per salvare la nazione, bastava Lui.
La sorpresa della non-resistenza
già annuncia la loro sconfitta;
