Mary of Magdala si recò al sepolcro di buon mattino,
quand’era ancora buio, e vide che la pietra
era stata ribaltata dal sepolcro (Gv 20,1)
Pietra tombale davanti al cuore
masso informe che oscura la fede
e non permette di cantare vittoria
per la sconfitta della morte.
Eppure il sepolcro è vuoto e io
continuo a piangere senza speranza;
talmente la morte è conficcata
nella mia natura, che la porto nel cuore.
Non spero la vita, conosco solo il dolore;
fuggo lontano
sealed the tombs and I find myself wandering in their midst.
Everyone is dead, well inside the tomb.
whitewashed tombs, the garden of the dead,
monumental tombs containing the bodies of loved ones who are no longer
beyond the barrier of death.
Yet Christ's tomb is empty,
wide open by the explosive force of life that no
pit can hold in the cold ground.
Jesus rises from the dead for me,
breaks down the walls of my despair, my heart breaks
sealed
man opens a new horizon of eternity.
Now I feel loved by God
of a love that crosses the tomb
to enter into me, making me
raise the fatal prostration.
It is love which removes the stone,
love which transforms the heart;
is love that conquers death,
love that makes me love at last.
From this I know that I am alive for ever
me if I bring in the root of love;
risen Christ breaks down the walls,
rotola via con forza l’inutile masso
perché ormai la tomba è vuota
ed ha riempito il mio cuore
della luce sfolgorante dell’amore
che risuscita i morti Alleluia!
